Small lithium batteries are can easily support the brief, heavy current demands of devices such as alarms and maintain a higher voltage for a longer period than traditional alkaline cells.
An additional benefit of the more powerful battery is that the volume of the alarm siren has been increased from 110db to 120db, which is approximately equivalent to a jet engine or a rock concert! The XX14 is self-arming, (i.e. it is armed/disarmed when the disc lock is locked/unlocked) and re-sets automatically to armed mode within 15 seconds. Shock and motion sensors trigger the anti-theft alarm, which is powered by the single Lithium battery.
The lock body has a high nickel-content stainless-steel mono-block construction and is secured with a 14mm double-locking, carbide-reinforced hardened-steel locking pin. It is tested and approved by leading organisations in the UK and overseas, including Thatcham, providing further reassurance of its security credentials.
XENA disc lock features;
- 14mm double locking pin
- Double locking system
- Movement and shock sensor
- carbide reinforced
- Corrosion resistent

Extremely durable disc lock with a defaning 120db alarm, an excellent deterrant from a would-be thief and reasonably well priced. How much do you value your bike, this is small price to pay. It\'s not Thatcham approved but half the battle is about making your bike appear more secure than the one parked next to it, a thief will always choosing the easier option.
