thunderace exhaust

Thunderace exhausts are the bikes major problem as they are mild steel and frankly, rubbish quality . I am rebuilding my thunderace as a streetfighter and was about to buy an aftermarket s/steel one when i came across this site which made me wonder if anyone out there would know if there are header pipes off any other bike would fit onto a 1996 Thunderace which would be worth considering as a second hand option? as my money as become quite thin due to mod costs. If anyone got info that could help me I would be most grateful. cheers, Ryan.

never actually thought about using different headers
got to be worth a look into

but there are so many other variables in exhaust design, that even if you find a set that fit [at a push ] you will probably find the sonic tuning aspect will be shot at least
as for funds, we all have that issue
but I would check breakers first
ask specifically for after market headers off a Thunderace
as they don't HAVE to just supply OE kit
