Introduction

Hi all!

Where do I start? My name is Chris, I'm 32 and I just passed my CBT a few days ago (Saturday!)

I used to have a Warrior Despatch 125cc but before I could do my CBT someone stole it! I now have a Gilera Coguar 125 (cream and green) which needs a bit of work done on the carburetor before I can ride it! It's a smidge rusty but I'm cleaning it up and hope to be on the road in the next 2 - 4 weeks!

In an ideal world I'd have a Harley Davidson Sportster (883 or 1200 as I'm not picky!) and/or a Harley Davidson Fatboy. I wouldn't mind a quick go on a Fireblade just to see what it's like!!

good point from Glitch
if you are NOW on a 125, looking to end up on Harley's
then a Fireblade is a very FAST way to put the shitz up your self

IF you still intend to try one
be gentle with the right hand

I LOVE the big Jap bikes
and IMHO NOTHING comes close to that thrill of opening one up BIG time

mind you my ZX12 tends to get VERY thirsty at those moments

but yeah, be careful

Harleys CAN be fast
but they are nothing compared to the supersport Jap stuff

I've not long done my CBT and really wanted a sports bike to begin with. Ended up going with a Yamaha YBR125 which is kinda choppery looking

So glad I did now as there is really good visibility on it and its comfortable on the long rides I do for work, althought I do wish it had a bit more power (tops out at 60mph)

I wouldn't worry about the top speed
comfort is EVERYTHING :D
and you will probably be trading up within a year or two ??

either way

unless you have a LOT of pennies available
check out the bike below the one you would really like
as that will give you almost as much push
for a lot less pence

Its not about speed ita about learning to stay alive out there, get a bike you are comfy with to start, and progress as your skills develope, to many jump from the basic leaqrner to a bike thats far to much for them.

BTW welcome to MSE
