Candy Orange “SS”
– January 1973 (L-Reg)
This FS1-E is one of the earliest known
surviving UK models bearing the number
*394 – 000198*. The first UK model
was *394 – 000101*, making this
one of the first one hundred UK models
off the production line. It is made rarer
still by the fact that Yamaha had to change
the model name “SS” and livery
to “FS1-E” after producing
only around 7000 bikes with the “SS”
badge as a result of legal pressure from
Honda in respect of copyright as they
also had a SS50 Sports Moped being sold
at the same time. This bike has been restored
using mostly (99%) new old stock genuine
Yamaha parts including a brand new frame,
due to the original being beyond repair.
The engine has been professionally rebuilt
by Mark Griffiths at Raccoon Racing using
just the engine crankcases as original
items and then the rest of the engine
was built using mostly new original parts.
The candy orange tinware (tank, side-panels
etc) have all been professionally restored
and repainted by Tony Collins at Custom
Paint.

Popsicle Purple FS1-E –
November 1974 (M-Reg)
This FS1-E was bought as a “basket
case” in 2007 and was stripped and
restored to back to original. This bike
has been restored using mostly
(99%) new old stock genuine Yamaha parts
where the original parts were either missing
or beyond repair. The engine has been
professionally rebuilt by Mark Griffiths
at Raccoon Racing using new original parts
were replacements were needed. The Competition
Yellow tinware (tank, side-panels etc)
have all been professionally restored
and repainted by Tony Collins at Custom
Paint. This fizzy was sold earlier this
year and now resides in Colchester, Essex
I believe.

Competition Yellow FS1-ED –
November 1975 (P-Reg)
I purchased this FS1-ED last year off
a chap in Blackpool who had owned the
bike since new so it was a very rare “one
owner” example in original condition.
The model itself is also quite rare as
it was the first fizzy to have the front
disc brake fitted and was only produced
on a limited production for a few months
carrying the traditional pinstripe tank
decal with screw on tank badges livery.
This model was only available for one
year and it is believed only a few thousand
were made, as it was soon to be replaced
with the FS1-EDX model with Kenny Roberts
Speedblocks (see below). This bike has
been restored using mostly (99%) new old
stock genuine Yamaha parts where the original
parts were either missing or beyond repair.
The engine has been professionally rebuilt
by Mark Griffiths at Raccoon Racing using
new original parts were replacements were
needed. The Competition Yellow tinware
(tank, side-panels etc) have all been
professionally restored and repainted
by Tony Collins at Custom Paint.

BAJA Brown FS1-E – August
1976 (R-Reg)
This FS1-E was purchased in September
2006 and was the first fizzy I bought
since having two at the age of 16. I have
since bought 20+ more!!
It was bought as a replacement to my first
ever fizzy I had aged 16 which was sadly
stolen at the time. It is exactly the
same model, colour and year as the one
I had in 1978. It has been restored from
the frame up using mostly (99%) new old
stock genuine Yamaha parts where the original
parts were either missing or beyond repair.
The engine has been professionally rebuilt
by Mark Griffiths at Raccoon Racing using
new original parts were replacements were
needed. The Competition Yellow tinware
(tank, side-panels etc) have all been
professionally restored and repainted
by Tony Collins at Custom Paint. This
fizzy is my main fizzy I used for riding
at various events and shows around the
country like the Bolney to Brighton Annual
Run and the Annual Sixteener-Special Show
at Billing Aquadrome as well as the VJMC
Show at Uttoxeter.

Competition Yellow FS1-EDX
– January 1976 (P-Reg)
This FS1-E was bought as a “basket
case” in 2007 and was stripped and
restored. This bike has been restored
using a combination of new old stock genuine
Yamaha and some pattern parts and is now
considered as a “special”.
It is used as a demonstration model at
shows to show off some of the different
aftermarket parts that we sell as well
as some specialist custom paint work done
by Tony Collins at Custom Paint. The engine
has been professionally rebuilt by Mark
Griffiths at Raccoon Racing using new
original parts were replacements were
needed. The Competition Yellow tinware
(tank, side-panels etc) have all been
professionally restored and repainted
by Tony Collins at Custom Paint.
This fizzy belongs to my partner in
the FizzyParts spares and restorations
business and now resides in Saltash, Cornwall.
