in competition helped to maintain the image
and promote sales of its roadgoing machines.
The Venom was
the final development of the 500cc touring bike
range, which could trace its ancestry back to
the pre war days and the iron barrelled MSS,
and as such was to set standards which lesser
marques strove to achieve.
