GSXR750 Gallery
Suzuki debuted
the GSXR750F at the 1984 Cologne Show, instantly
creating a new class of Supersport machinery.
The inspiration for the model had come from
the firm's endurance racers that had been campaigned
at events such as the Bol d'Or 24 hour. An aluminium
tubed frame equipped with a rising rate rear
suspension system and anti dive enhanced front
forks housed a new air/oil cooled four cylinder
engine producing approximately 100bhp mated
to a six speed gearbox. The slab sided, twin
headlight fairing and racing style seat reinforced
the track image. When the press got the opportunity
to test the new model they found that it exceeded
their expectations with performance on a par
with many of the contemporary litre class machines
and handling that came straight off the track.
