For 2012, the Street Triple R has been further enhanced with a new look and a host of detail changes that improve this already outstanding motorcycle.

Based on the standard Street Triple, the harder-edged R version adds fully-adjustable supersport specification suspension and premium graphics and colour schemes to really make it stand out from the crowd.

Highly regarded for its light and intuitive handling, the Street Triple R features 41mm inverted front forks which are adjustable for preload, rebound and compression damping to give the expert rider freedom to set the motorcycle up for their specific needs. The rear monoshock is an equally high quality item, adjustable for preload and rebound damping, while the twin 308mm floating front discs are mated to powerful four-piston Nissin radial calipers for eye popping stopping power.

With a wet weight of just 189kg and a 106PS at its disposal, the Street Triple R provides a lively yet surprisingly composed ride that will surprise more than a few race replicas on a twisting road or race track. Since its introduction for 2009, the Street Triple R has received numerous accolades, including ‘Bike of the Year’ awards from Bike magazine in the UK and Moto Navi of Japan.

The Street Triple R’s high equipment level includes lightweight five-spoke alloy wheels from the Daytona 675, fat alloy Magura handlebars, a stylish two-tone seat unit and a comprehensive instrumentation includes a built in lap timer, programmable gear change lights, clock and gear indicator, as well as a large tachometer and digital speedo.

New style headlights, the same aggressive design used on the bigger Speed Triple, and twin high level silencers dominate the styling, with a number of detail improvements being brought in for 2012, including new mesh headstock infill panels, brushed finishes on the silencers and Triumph branding on the clutch and alternator covers.

Three colour options are available on the 2012 Street Triple R: Crystal White, Diablo Red and Phantom Black (with gold wheels), with all colours featuring new graphics, including the Triumph sports script on the fuel tank.

Triumph’s range of genuine accessories are hugely popular with Street Triple R owners.

Colour matched flyscreens, belly pans and seat cowls give the bike a more sporting and aggressive look, while Arrow Special Parts have developed both a three-into-one ‘low boy’ exhaust system and lightweight slip-on silencers for improved performance and a weight reduction. Other key accessories include CNC machined clutch and brake levers and a ‘plug and play’ quickshifter that can be fitted to the Street Triple R in minutes.
