2012 Derbi Senda DRD X-Treme &
The Senda DRD 50 family, offered as
R and SM versions, has always been for young-at-heart
riders. The X-Treme and Racing versions exceed even
the wildest expectations: the top in terms of image,
technology and sports performance.
For Derbi, the Senda name has always stood for freedom,
and has identified off-road models which, in the DRD
(Derbi Racing Development) variant, represent the
best that the class has to offer in terms of equipment
and finish. The undisputed leaders of the 50 cc class,
the R (Enduro) and SM (Supermotard) versions of the
Senda DRD represent the essence of off-road riding
fun: while the DRD X-Treme and Racing embody the values
of the Derbi brand perfectly and cater for the demands
of young riders and sports users.
The X-Treme variants of the enduro and supermotard
versions inherit premium features and components from
the Racing version. These include the high power headlight
with integrated race number panel and LED taillight,
which give the bikes the stylish, high-tech looks
of a true pro machine. Then there is the multifunctional
digital instrument panel: all the information you
need at your fingertips in a compact, lightweight
The robust structure of the double cradle high strength
steel gives the Senda DRD models outstanding agility.
The Derbi Senda DRD Racing, which is also available
in both S and RM variants, is packed with premium
technical solutions and features.
The Racing boasts top quality suspension components
at the front and rear, as you would expect from the
Derbi DRD range. At the front is a 41 mm traditional
fork with a wheel travel of 195 mm (37 mm stanchions
and 180 mm wheel excursion for the X-Treme version).
The rear shock absorber works in conjunction with
a generously sized but lightweight double sided swingarm
(in aluminium on the Racing model and steel on the
X-Treme), which complements the agility of the superb
Both the X-Treme and Racing come with oversized brake
systems: with a 260 mm disc at the front and a 220
mm disc at the rear for maximum safety in all situations.
The R and SM versions of both the X-Treme and Racing
differ in the wheels fitted. While the R enduro model
is equipped with a 21” front wheel and an 18”
rear wheel shod with off-road rubber, the SM supermotard
runs on 17” street wheels at the front and rear
fitted with street tyres.
Both models are powered by a scintillating liquid
cooled 50 cc 2 stroke engine giving the DRD X-Treme
and Racing class beating performance, with maximum
torque already available at low engine speeds. Compliant
with current emissions regulations, the 50 cc 2 stroke
units make the Senda models fun to ride with gusto
and give them genuine pro performance. A lightweight,
