For 2009 the Yamaha model range is strengthened
significantly with the arrival of the all-new R1,
the next-generation VMAX, the XVS950A Midnight Star,
the WR125X Supermoto and WR125R Enduro.
In addition to the all-new models, the FJR1300A and
FJR1300AS feature a number of small but important
changes for 2009, and a wide selection of current
models are available with new colours and/or graphics.
The following list details all relevant changes and
colour schemes for each 2009 minor- and/or colour-changed
model, with all new colours/graphics shown in bold/italic.

FJR1300A
In order to enhance rider comfort, the FJR1300A
features a modified clutch mechanism, which reduces
load at the clutch lever, giving a lighter feel.

FJR1300AS
For 2009 the semi-automatic FJR1300AS benefits from
a number of changes to the YCC-S system (Yamaha Chip
Controlled-Shift). The actual structure and design
of the YCC-S mechanism remains unchanged, and the
modifications are focused on the control mapping of
the system. These changes are designed to offer improved
response and feel when downshifting while the engine
is idling and the bike is at a standstill, giving
improved ride quality, especially in stop/start urban
situations.
