Thanks to the varied UK climate, the warmest, driest
weather isn’t always guaranteed during the summer
months. Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland is acknowledging
the poor weather we’ve experienced this summer
by encouraging motorcyclists to extend their riding
season throughout autumn and winter.
By being well prepared, there’s no reason why
riders can’t use their bikes during the darker
months and continue to enjoy their Harley-Davidson
motorcycles right through into the New Year.
Prepare
Servicing is essential for motorcyclists who intend
to use their bikes during the cooler months and Harley-Davidson’s
Winter and Corrosion Protection Service can help to
prepare their motorcycles for the elements. This service
includes a full bike clean, anti-corrosion treatment
and extensive 99-point wheel check as well as an oil
and filter change. What’s more, the dealer will
also valet and remove any remaining anti-corrosion
treatments from owners’ bikes when the weather
starts to improve.
Meanwhile, for motorcyclists who decide to put their
bike away for the winter, Harley-Davidson also offers
a collection, storage and delivery service*.
Protect
For added peace of mind while out on the road, the
Harley-Davidson MotorClothes collection includes an
extensive range of versatile and high-visibility functional
riding kit.
The men’s FXRG Mid-weight Nylon Jacket is manufactured
in waterproof Cordura Aquator fabric. Pre-curved sleeves,
zippered cuffs and Aquator fabric at key stress points
provide added comfort, while the inside pocket system
is ideal for a rider’s essentials. The jacket
also features an integrated kidney belt, removable
body warmer and full-length cooling vents. Reflective
piping on the arms and across the back increases rider
visibility on the road. Coordinating FXRG Nylon Trousers
are also available.
In addition, the Gauntlet Gloves are made from genuine,
high-quality drum-dyed leather. The exclusive waterproof
Gore-Tex liner has been developed especially for Harley-Davidson

Being seen is equally as important as being able
to see while out on the road. Harley-Davidson’s
lighting upgrade incorporates a High Intensity Discharge
Headlamp System (Xenon). This provides a curb-to-curb
spread of blue/white light with a separate Halogen
high beam, and gives a focused shaft of light down
the centre of the road ahead. The upgrade also includes
an electronic starter and ballast system.
If the cold weather is an issue, Harley-Davidson’s
collection of heated grips, seats and detachable screens
will help to keep the elements at bay. In addition,
most of these accessories are multi-fit, so are designed
to suit most Harley-Davidson models.
