2009 Triumph Scrambler

Triumph’s popular retro model, the Scrambler,
gets a tough new look for 2009, thanks to an attitude-filled
Matt Khaki Green colour scheme echoing military bikes
of the 1950s and 1960s.
The Scrambler, which takes its design cues from
1960s off-road Triumphs made famous by Steve McQueen
in The Great Escape, represents a fresh take on the
iconic bikes from the company’s rich tradition.
Very few motorcycles can claim to be unique but
Triumph’s Scrambler, thanks to its authentic
styling, is most certainly one of them. Using a strong
tubular steel cradle frame and supple front and rear
suspension the Scrambler is built tough, to iron out
the bumps. Its high, wide handlebars and high-set
footpegs further aid control and low-speed manoeuvrability.
The spoked wheels with lightly-knobbled tyres acknowledge
the Scrambler’s off-road heritage, as do stylish
the high level twin exhausts and purposeful single
headlamp.
Mechanically the Scrambler remains unchanged and
is powered by a 60PS, 270 degree crankshaft, version
of Triumph’s venerable 865cc air-cooled parallel
twin engine which delivers torquey performance accompanied
by an addictive off-beat twin exhaust note.
A full range of official accessories are also available
for the 2009 Scrambler. In addition to a number of
practical accessories designed to tailor the functionality
of the bike to the individual rider, Triumph is also
offering an exquisite two-into-one Arrow exhaust system
and a variety of styling options to enable owners
to personalise their Scrambler.
In addition to Matt Khaki Green, the 2009 Triumph
Scrambler is also available in a stylish Jet Black
alternative.
