2009 Harley Davidson EuroFestival
19th May 2009
The
sun shone down over thousands of Harley-Davidson®
motorcyclists recently, as enthusiasts from all across
Europe flocked to St Tropez for the 2009 Harley-Davidson®
EuroFestival™. Nearly 8,000 bikes rumbled into
picturesque Port Grimaud for three days of rocking
and riding during the weekend of 7-10 May.
While the surrounding area of the French
Riviera provided breathtaking views by day, tributes
to AC/DC and U2 as well as local French bands entertained
the crowds by night. Undoubtedly, the highlight of
the event was a Woodstock revival show on Saturday,
which relived the famous concert of 1967.
The
port of St Tropez hosted a constant stream of Harley-Davidson®
motorcycles all weekend. The spectacular parade on
Sunday led bikes through the town where Chapters from
all across Europe and beyond were represented in the
Chapter Parade of Flags.
As well as the main event site at Port Grimaud, neighbouring
towns La Mole and St Maxime hosted their own parties,
with bands, ride-outs and barbeques. However, it was
in the heart of the main event site where the party
really came to life. Traders from across southern
Europe, as well as many food and drink outlets took
over the site, while demo ride stands gave more than
500 visitors the opportunity to test ride the Harley-Davidson®
model of their dreams.
The custom bike show, held in the nearby picturesque
village of Grimaud
on Friday, was by far the best show the EuroFestival™
has ever seen – superb custom bikes were entered
into categories such as Custom, Radical, Ladies of
Harley and Big Twin. Meanwhile, the hundreds of visitors
relaxed in the sun and sampled the culinary delights
of the local bars and restaurants.

show and video clips can be found at www.hogeuropegallery.com.
