Kevin Carmichael
Triumph-riding Kevin Carmichael is
one of the most innovative and stylish stunt riders
in the world and he has titles to prove it: listing
world stunt riding champion and three-times European
stunt riding champion among his many awards.
Kevin has also won the Burns Day
competition in 2004, which is widely regarded as
the best stunt competition in the world as contestants
are judged by the crowd’s reaction rather
than a panel.
Kevin started to ride bikes at a
mere seven years old and competed in motocross for
many years. During his motorcross career Kevin won
several club championships, was Scottish Expert
Schoolboy Champion and came second in the Scottish
Junior Adult Championship. His stunt riding career
began in 1997, just eight weeks before the European
championship he went on to win. Since then, Kevin
and his team have performed in various countries
throughout the world.
Softly-spoken, friendly and always
ready to chat with fans or sign autographs, Kevin’s
easy-going personality hides a steely determination
to succeed that drives him to spend hours perfecting
his routines and a quiet confidence in his own abilities
that allows him to perform them in front of thousands
of spectators.
A pioneer of stunt riding for many
years, Carmichael is well known for the unique,
dynamic and fascinating riding style that he invented
and perfected. Many of the tricks performed by other
world champion stunt riders, have been either adopted
from or inspired by Kevin’s own routines.
For example Kevin was the first person to perform
a wheelie on a superbike without a front wheel or
forks and the first to wheelie in a circle with
two passengers.
Kevin rides only Triumph motorcycles
in his stunt shows, performing worldwide with various
models including the Street Triple, Speed Triple,
Thruxton and the awesome Rocket III.
