Ducati Glasgow Scoop Two Awards With Dearler of the Year and Top Sales Dealer

Ducati Glasgow celebrated a double award at a gala dinner for over 1000 Ducati dealers at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in central Milan.

24 hours earlier, Martin Rees the Managing Director of the Glasgow dealership had received an award for ‘Top Sales Dealer’ and although he was delighted with this he had an eye on the bigger prize,” We had worked really hard for the last 6 or 7 years and to be told that we had sold more bikes in the UK than anybody else and to then receive an award for it, was a big deal for me. I then began to wonder if we may have a chance for ‘Dealer of the Year’ which I knew would be presented at the Gala Dinner the following evening.”

The Gala Dinner was held for the Dealers who had attended the Global Dealer Conference prior to the Milan show, where they had an opportunity to see the latest model line up that included the new 1198, the stunning Streetfighter and the dedication to a Ducati legend - the 1098R ‘Bayliss Replica.’

Indeed it was Troy Bayliss who was the guest of honour and was invited on stage to present the awards to the dealers of the year from around the world including the ‘UK Dealer of the Year’ – Ducati Glasgow. Martin Rees commented,” The whole evening was perfect, listening to Troy’s speech was very emotional and to then to receive the award from him and in turn present him with a bottle of Scotland’s finest 12 year old single malt whisky was very special. He congratulated me and I replied ‘thanks for the memories’. A truly amazing evening and to win the award as well made it something I will never forget.”

It is not the first time Ducati Glasgow has been recognised for their excellence, in 2007 they were voted top Scottish dealer by Ride magazine readers as well as been the top rated Ducati dealer in both 2007 and 2008.
Other award winners included Moto Rapido of Winchester for Top Service Dealer and Ducati Manchester for Most Improved Dealer.
