Ducati's Desmosedici Day to Raise Funds For Riders For Health

The life-saving work of Riders for Health will receive a vital boost thanks to a charity auction at the world’s first Desmosedici-only track day. The event, organised by Ducati UK, will see the largest ever gathering of these amazing motorcycles at Donington Park on Tuesday 30th June.

This most exclusive of all track days is open solely to Desmosedici RR owners, who will be able to ride the full Moto GP circuit. Track places are limited to 75 and a parade lap of all ‘Desmos’ will take place to provide one of the greatest ever spectacles seen and heard at Donington Park.

Ducati is a long-term supporter of Riders for Health and has joined forces with the charity to provide some unique auction items including the chance to have lunch with grand-prix legend and co-founder of Riders for Health, Randy Mamola, at a MotoGP of their choice. The prize will form part of an exclusive auction which will include a ride on the back of a MotoGP bike with the MotoX2 Ducati at the British MotoGP. Both of these prizes come with a pair of paddock passes. All of the money raised in the auction will support the Riders for Health work in Africa.

The auction includes:

• Two paddock passes and lunch with Randy Mamola at a MotoGP of your choice,
• Ride on the back of a MotoGP bike piloted by Randy Mamola with the MotoX2 Ducati at the British MotoGP, with a pair paddock passes and Ducati team hospitality,
• Xbox360 SBK 2008 game signed by Michel Fabrizio and Troy Bayliss,
• Signed Casey Stoner posters.

Even if someone does not have a Desmosedici RR or owners can’t make the event they can still bid in the auction and this can be done by emailing desmosedici@riders.org with their name, address and telephone number along with details of which auction item they would like to bid on and their maximum bid for that item. Riders for Health will then bid on their behalf in the auction.

Costs for the day are:

• Track place including track use and hospitality - £450 including VAT.
• Guests or Desmosedici RR owners not wishing to ride on track but who can enjoy the rest of the facilities of the day - £100 including VAT.

This is not just a track day and there will be plenty to do and see off the track. There will be guest appearances from test rider Vittoriano Guareschi and designer Alan Jenkins, members of the Ducati Corse team including World Superbike Technical Director Ernesto Marinelli and Ducati riders past and present. Desmo owners can also take advantage of technical seminars and a Donington ‘behind the scenes’ tour, as well as technical support from Ducati Corse and Bridgestone.

The money raised at the auction will make a real difference to the work of Riders for Health in Africa, helping many more families in rural communities to receive regular, life-saving health care.
