The “coolest” side of the Aprilia Sportcity
is called: Sportcity One 50. After its debut this
summer, the Sportcity family is ready to welcome a
new member into the fold. The youngest and liveliest,

The flat platform, the protective shield, and in
particular the under-seat storage compartment spacious

Chassis
Designed for maximum rationality, the Sportcity One’s
frame is a classical open cradle frame in high strength
steel tube. Despite the scooter’s flat platform,
its frame delivers excellent rigidity for a great
feeling on the road and provides the highest level
of safety.
With 32 mm stanchions and a wheel travel of 85 mm,
the hydraulic fork effectively smoothes out even the
roughest road surfaces.
As with all scooters of the type, the engine-transmission
assembly acts as swingarm and is damped by an adjustable
shock absorber. The 76 mm wheel travel makes easy
work of any road surface, providing a level of comfort
normally only found on larger models, also due to
the large tyres.
Thanks to this particular chassis configuration,
the Sportcity One is the perfectly combination of
spacious comfort and unique handling. Aprilia was
the first to believe in the possibility of using a
“medium-size” wheel with wide section
tyres to obtain a level of comfort and safety which
stands way above the rest.
Sportcity One 50 2T follows the road taken by its
predecessors. The 14-inch wheels with large tubeless
tyres (120/70 both front and rear), with the rigid
frame – guarantee handling that is second to
none, with excellent comfort, along with easy and
intuitive road holding, making One a scooter anyone
can handle.
A powerful 220 mm front disc (a record diameter for
its category) with a two-piston floating caliper,
plus a 140 mm rear drum mean instant stopping.
Engine
The Sportcity One 2T is a real all-round urban vehicle.
A lively 2-stroke engine – producing 4.08 HP
– makes the One 50 2T the lightest and most
agile scooter in the Sportcity range, also thanks
to the “sprinter” configuration of the
engine and the optimal automatic transmission ratios.
The Sportcity One 50 2T offers excellent acceleration,
letting you reach the maximum speed allowed by law
very quickly. The Kick starter is fitted as standard
on the Sportcity One 2T, so you’ll always be
able to start the scooter even with a flat battery.
