2006 Moto Guzzi MGS-01
Moto Guzzi with its 3329 international wins, including 14 world speed titles, 22 world records and 11 Tourist Trophy victories, has racing in its genes. This is why it is particularly interested in the racing segment, in the hearts and minds of an entire generation of fans. This is why it has set up a "Style Laboratory" where research can express itself freely, finding new ways to make the dreams of speed enthusiasts come true. Reviving the thrill of the triumphs on racetracks around the world is delegated to a motorcycle born already fully grown, admired right from its first public appearances. The MGS-01 Corsa is a unique bike on today's circuits, with all the personality of a motorcycle of yesterday plus a whole lot of new technology.
MGS-01 Corsa - It isn't handmade, but almost;
Even when standing still, it gives the impression of movement, with its streamlined aggressive profile, aerodynamic front fairing and slender sleek tail. The gilded front forks project out towards the road, almost embracing the front disks with their massive Brembo radial callipers. The impression of power and elegance is enhanced by the performance. The air-cooled four stroke, four valve 90° V-Twin has a capacity of 1225cc and drives hard at all revs. A glance at the components is enough to understand why. The three-ring Cosworth pistons guarantee high compression, the cylinders with chrome liners reduce friction to a minimum and the bushes have been replaced with bearings. Power is combined with control, guaranteed by mechanics designed for riding on the track. The excellent weight distribution with 200grams difference between the front and rear ends contributes to the fantastic agility, together with the low weight (192kg) and short wheelbase (1430mm). The Öhlins fork has solid 43mm inners and three adjustment stages. The rear suspension features a 513mm box section aluminium swing arm and a monoshock mounted vertically just behind the engine. When stopping, the two 320 mm front disks and 220mm rear disk with twin piston calliper come into action.
The MGS-01 Corsa is an exclusive motorcycle constructed with the care of craftsmen and dedicated to real connoisseurs. This is why each model is accompanied by a booklet with the rider's details and the frame number of each motorcycle. The bike cover and stand bear the MGS-01 Corsa logo and even the packaging in which it is delivered to the purchaser's home is personalised.
