2005 MZ 1000S
The market introduction of the MZ 1000 S is a milestone in motorcycle production in Zschopau. For the first time in the 80 years history of the company, the Saxon traditional motorcycle manufacturer has entered the Big Bike segment.
A technical speciality is the 2-cylinder in-line engine. This engine concept is unique. The engine with its 117 hp is the most powerful of its class in the world. Acceleration of the bike is from 0 to 100 in 3.4 seconds with a maximum speed of over 240 km/h.
Unique is also the patented Twin Wheel System that has been developed exclusively for the 1000cc models of MZ. The revolutionary technology allows a reduction of weight of 10% in comparison to casted wheels.
Consonant with the new strategy at MZ, the MZ 1000 S has been entirely developed and built by MZ. Most important for the development was the target to build a high value German motorcycle with a unique character.
The MZ 1000 S is a sport tourer that combines sportiness with comfort and can be used for almost every purpose. "The most sport German street bike" (according to Germany's largest motorcycle magazine "MOTORRAD") is - in comparison to other bikes - fully adjustable and guarantees good handling for almost any rider.
