2005 KTM 450 SMR

The ultra-light racing machine for the S2 Supermoto class. Special
Supermoto chassis, High Performance racing brake up front, with a
radial caliper and radial pump and plenty of power that's
transferred to the 5" rear wheel at the highest speeds.

FRONT BRAKE
A new era has begun for brakes. KTM is the first manufacturer to install a specially designed, high-end Supermoto brake with a radial pump and a radial, bolted, four-piston fixed caliper as standard equipment. Professional braking performance combined with the 310 mm, floating Braking-Wave disc.
SWING ARM
In conjunction with the specially set-up PDS shock absorber from WP Suspension, the new super-stiff cast swing arm guarantees the controlled guidance of the rear wheel, even in extreme drifts.
FRAME
Increased rigidity thanks to new, lateral, oval tubes, plus special re-inforcements around the steering head mean maximum stability and dependable front wheel guidance for the new Supermoto frame.
TRIPLE CLAMP
With the new, CNC machined triple clamps of reinforced alumi-nium, KTM again raises the bar for series motorcycles. Perfect fork clamping, with three screws per side at the bottom coupled with the greatest stability. And the highlight is the adjustable offset between 18 and 20 mm, with which the motorcycle's geometry as well as its handling can be individually set for any rider or riding surface. A childishly simple device with a great pay-off that is normally built into exorbitantly expensive factory machines.
MAIN SILENCER
The new aluminium silencer lowers the exhaust noise level to the future competition noise limit.
FORKS
Continually refined, inside and out. The newest 48 WP USD forks with a special Supermoto setting have been completely revamped, resulting in less friction and therefore better responsiveness. New fork seal rings increase stability and reduce maintenance.
HANDLEBARS
The Renthal handlebars of tapered aluminium (raised 10 mm com-pared with the EXC), with new dual compound grips and precise hydraulic clutch action, are already KTM standard equipment.
GRAPHIC
There's a new graphic design for all Supermoto models in 2005. The KTM letters will be delineated with a silver shadow.
