2004 Moto Guzzi V11 Coppa Italia

Right from the first glance, the distinctive three
colour version is a clear declaration of the competitive
vocation of the V11 Coppa Italia. A bike developed
to celebrate participation in the Italian Naked Championship
in 2003. An important signal, a presence destined
to become ever more important in the future, a make
which wants to win back the position of leadership
and prestige which is part of its DNA.
The inheritance is crystal clear in this model, one
of the variations on the V11 theme, the sports bike
par excellence from the Mandello del Lario company.
The lines are classical, compact and muscular, with
the 90° V-Twin clearly evident, the classical shaped
tank and the absence of fairing showing every detail
of the solid and traditional structure incorporating
such distinctive elements as the powerful 320 mm double
floating front disc. Nothing changes when you get
on the bike.
The reliability of the 1,064 cc engine is the same
as ever, with the cross piece linking the manifolds
of the two cylinders improving the balance of the
exchange between the thermal elements for greater
power output at intermediate revs, the most frequently
used during road use. Also classical is the remarkable
power at low revs, with a compression ratio of 9.8:1.
The chassis immediately inspires confidence, with
the rigidity of the steel single spar frame and completely
adjustable suspension system consisting of a robust
fork with 45 mm diameter inners, shock absorber with
cantilever swinging fork swingarm and steering damper,
all with the Öhlins signature.
A top level suspension system, enabling the set-up
of the bike to be adapted to your personal riding
style. And for those wanting to try the qualities
of the V11 Coppa Italia on the tracks, Moto Guzzi
supplies the exclusive "Titanium Racing Exhaust Pipe
Kit", consisting of two titanium silencers, dedicated
control unit and modified footpeg mounts. The kit
weighs 50% less than the original parts and this weight
reduction increases power over the engine's entire
delivery range. Moreover, to contribute to a reduction
of the total weight of the bike, Moto Guzzi supplies
"forged OZ rims", derived directly form the MGS-01
Corsa experience in the circuits.
