The Harley-Davidson Road King series now has
an all-new FLHRSI Road King Custom, one of six
models in a diverse line of touring models from
the Motor Company for 2004. Lowered and laid
back, the Road King Custom has a smooth new
look. Rear tyre upgrade
An important change to all touring models for
2004 is the introduction of a new rear tyre
that offers more than 30 per cent longer life.
The new 143mm MU85 tyre replaces the 132mm MT90
rear tyre. Tyre load capacity increases approximately
10 per cent, from 375 kg to 411kg.
All 2004 Touring models are powered by a vibration-isolated
Twin Cam 88 Vtwin engine with Electronic Fuel
Injection, and each benefits from chassis updates
implemented in 2002 that improved stiffness
and ride quality at all speeds, including a
larger, 180 per cent stiffer swingarm; retuned
engine mounts; a larger, 25.4mm (1 inch) diameter
rear axle; and improved, retuned suspension.
