2004 BMW R1150 Rockster
The Rockster, which retails at £7,295
on the road, is a sportier version of the
successful R1150 R model, from where it derives
its engine, gearbox, frame, swing arm and
electrics. The striking headlights are taken
from the R1150 GS, while some of the components
such as the Telelever sliding tubes, 5.5 inch
rear wheel rim and the front mudguard come
from the R1100 S. Riding dynamics are uprated
for greater agility.
Although the Rockster is primarily about
innovative design and forward thinking it
incorporates all the best components and elements
of the current boxer range it is a machine
that shows a new face and character. Like
the rest of BMW's boxer range, the R1150 R
Rockster features a dual ignition system that
improves the uniformity of combustion throughout
the engine's operating range, while reducing
fuel consumption and emission levels.
Striking twin-tone paintwork in matt black
and a choice of Citrus Green Metallic and
Orange Metallic colour schemes gives the Rockster
a truly unique identity that will appeal to
all fans of naked roadsters, who want a motorcycle
that performs as good as it looks.
