2004 Benelli Tornado Tre
900 Novecento
The Tornado's aggressive line
is dynamic and light, partly because without
a radiator the front is noticeably tapered.
The Tornado is the only production bike with
the radiator under the seat, drawing fresh air
in through two dynamic ducts with two vertical
inlets under the indicators. This solution not
only stops heat from building up at the centre
of the vehicle, but also reduces the size of
the front of the bike, making it more aerodynamic.
The philosophy behind the Tornado Novecento
Tre is that of a bike built around the rider.
The many aerodynamic tests carried out allowed
the elimination of all turbulence which might
tire the rider and disturb his/her driving.
In this way, the rider is perfectly integrated,
becoming more at one with the bike.Fabulous
colours and graphics enhance the Tornado's lines.
The bike is available in exclusive grey/green
colours, in the aggressive red version and with
elegant grey/black livery.
The Tornado Novecento Tre has a powerful 900
cc three-cylinder in-line engine, unique in
terms of performance, regular and progressive
power output and ultra-compact dimensions.The
bike's distinguishing features include the die
case crankcases, aluminium covers and the slipper
wet clutch. This has a flexible coupling system
which, as well as guaranteeing regular operation,
makes the handlebar control more comfortable.
On every self-respecting competition bike. Another
feature of the Tornado Novecento Tre is the
fully removable six-speed gearbox which, as
on all competition bikes, allows rapid gear
substitution without taking the engine to bits.
The frame was made by joining the front part,
including the steering pivot and the side trellis
frame structure made of molybdenum chrome steel
to the rear part, made of cast aluminium alloy.
The two parts are made integral by strong screws
securing the four trellises, which allow an
extremely solid join, reinforced by structural
gluing, as in the aeronautical industry, to
completely exclude micro-movements and vibrations.The
front fork is made by Marzocchi to a Benelli
design, with a pressed end and Ergal 55 tubes. The
suspension has adjustable rebound, compression
and spring pre-loading, so that the bike can
be rapidly adapted to the rider's preferences.
The length-adjustable feature also allows the
rear suspension to be raised or lowered according
to the desired set up.
The Tornado Novecento Tre is the only bike
in the world which uses the Extreme Technology
rear shock with an Ergal 55 central body. As
well as being stronger and lighter than the
conventional models, its temperatures remain
lower, providing constant performance. Distinctive
aspects of the Tornado Novecento Tre are the
care lavished on the components and the high
quality of the equipment. The exclusive Brembo
wheels chill cast to a Benelli design deserve
special mention. They provide the best possible
combination of lightness and strength, thanks
to the special five-spoke design with involute
profile, allowing a light inner core and so
a very low rolling inertia. The Brembo "Serie
Oro" (Gold Series) brake system is also prestigious
and technologically advanced. The front brake
has a 320 mm diameter twin floating disc, with
a calliper with four pistons, whilst the rear
brake, with a single 240 mm diameter disc, guarantees
precision and stability during braking.
The steering damper is also worth noticing.
It is fixed but has an oil expansion compensating
reservoir. This system guarantees gradual, constant
operation at all temperatures.Updated, modified
and further improved by constant technological
development, the Tornado is synonymous with
excitement, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. You
only have to look at it to appreciate the attention
paid to every detail: the unique, unmistakable
design, the aerodynamic wrap-around lines and
exceptional components. This bike offers sport
performance and unbeatable excitement, but remains
safe anywhere it is used, on the road or the
track, with just the rider or with a passenger
too. Definitely one to watch out for, representing
excellence in the motorcycling sector.
