    The last MotoGP test of the season got underway at the Andalucian circuit of Jerez today, with unexpectedly cold temperatures delaying the start of activity until late morning for the Yamaha duo of Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards. Unfortunately, it then began to rain soon after track temperatures had risen to suitable level and Rossi and Edwards, testing Yamaha's new prototype 800cc motorcycle side-by-side for the first time, were only able to complete a few laps in the dry.     The Jerez de la Frontera circuit, the venue for a fantastic opening round win for Loris Capirossi in the MotoGP championship eight months ago, was also the scene for the final testing session of the year which concluded today. Read more.....

    Rizla Suzuki MotoGP Racers Chris Vermeulen and John Hopkins recorded the fastest times on race tyres during the final day of the Jerez test in Spain today, Vermeulen setting a time marginally outside the current lap record, with team-mate Hopkins narrowly behind him. Read more.....

    Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa set the fastest time of the three-day test at Jerez on Thursday as the extraordinary 2006 MotoGP season drew to a close. Pedrosa, 21, completed another full day's development work aboard the Honda RC212V, before setting an impressive laptime of 1m 39.910s with a qualifying tyre to end the day ahead of former World Champion Valentino Rossi.     Under ideal weather conditions at the Jerez circuit in Spain, Alex Barros had a positive debut on his brand new Ducati GP7 800cc, equipped with Bridgesatone tyres. The Pramac D'antin Brazilian rider, who didn't ride the first day of the test due to rain and poor track conditions, got his first taste of the new machine and began working diligently on the testing program that the Team had prepared. Barros ultimately clocked 63 laps, with the best time of 1'43.187, and was feeling very good about the initial sensations of the bike. Read more.....

    Yesterday's weather forecast proved to be right and conditions were much improved on the second day of testing at Jerez. After waiting for the track to become completely dry, Ducati Marlboro Team riders Loris Capirossi and Casey Stoner went out after noon to get testing with their Desmosedici GP7 machines underway.     In a rain-interrupted day at the Jerez circuit, Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa was back in the saddle on the first day of the final MotoGP test of 2006. Though cold track temperatures in the morning and rain from lunchtime onwards made lap-times largely irrelevant today, Pedrosa completed a valuable 44 laps as he eased himself back into riding the 800cc Honda RC212V he will campaign next year.     The 2007 MotoGP season marks a new era for Kawasaki.     World Champion Nicky Hayden will sit out this week's MotoGP test at Jerez on November 28-30 in order to receive medical treatment to his injured right shoulder.     Dougie Lampkin returned to winning ways once again, with a convincing victory at a French invitation indoor event held last night, this coming just after his recent win at the famous Scott time and observation trial.     Last day of Malaysian test session at Sepang track for the MotoGP riders. Today the ambient temperature reached the 30° and the track temperature was nearly 43° so the LCR Team rider Carlos Checa kept on developing the new RC212V together with the staff managed by Ramon Forcada. Read more.....

    After yesterday's torrential downpour, the rain stayed away today and the sun came out at Sepang for the second day of MotoGP testing at the Malaysian track. Yamaha pilot Colin Edwards, who is riding Yamaha's new 800cc motorcycle for the first time this week, was able to complete 48 laps and make significant improvements to the setting of his bike, despite suffering a small slide into the gravel in turn one at one stage.     The second day of the planned three-day MotoGP test session at Sepang circuit started as soon as the damp track had been dried off by the burning sun. With ambient temperatures of 34 degrees combined with high humidity and the track surface eventually reaching 45 degrees the MotoGP riders returned to testing the new 800cc bikes including Carlos Checa on the new RC212V which will be involved in the 18-round world championship of 2007.     Positive first outing for Haga and Corser on the All-New R1 After working hard to make the first race version of the 2007 YZF-R1 ready for a two day Pirelli Development Teams' test at Valencia, the Yamaha Motor Italia team enjoyed two positive days of work under clear Spanish skies. Troy Corser set a best of 1'34.9 with a race set-up, with Noriyuki Haga on a 1'35.1, on qualifying tyres. Read more.....

    Total new moped and motorcycle registrations across almost all engine sizes and styles showed general improvements in October 2006, a total of 9,889 bikes were registered- an overall increase of 9% compared to the same month in 2005. Read more.....

    Colin Edwards got his first chance to try out Yamaha's brand-new 800cc MotoGP bike today, but his debut on the bike was cut short due to bad weather at Sepang. Torrential rain fell on the Malaysian circuit from 1pm, flooding parts of the track and bringing about scenes reminiscent of September's Grand Prix, when a similar storm led to the cancellation of Qualifying. The rain did begin to ease up as the afternoon wore on but parts of the track remained underwater and Edwards, along with all other MotoGP riders present, chose to stay in his garage. Read more.....

    The first day of tests at Malaysian track of Sepang ended today and most of the Teams were focused on the new 800cc bikes development. The intense humidity and high temperature were broken today by a storm at lunchtime. Carlos Checa and the LCR Team joined the first day of practices together with Rizla Suzuki, Kawasaki Racing, Fortuna Honda, Repsol Honda, Yamaha Tech 3 and Camel Yamaha. Read more.....

    As he had announced after the last race in Valencia, Marco Melandri underwent today a surgery on a niggling injury in his left arm. Around noon the Honda Gresini rider was operated by Doctor Gondolini at Villa Serena in Forli (Italy). The surgery run smoothly and Marco tomorrow will leave the hospital. Read more.....

    Just a couple of days after the dramatic finale to his rollercoaster season, Valentino Rossi was back out on track in Valencia yesterday and today, already thinking about next season's revenge as he got to grips with Yamaha's new 800cc motorcycle. After the final race of the 990cc era on Sunday, most of his MotoGP rivals were also out on their new bikes as the teams began the long winter of testing in the build-up to the first race next March.     Despite the weather forecasts announcing rain for today, the dark clouds over the Valencia track finally did not release their load and all riders were able to make use of the track until five o'clock in the afternoon to finish the scheduled tests. Read more.....

    Today, the second and last day of practice of the Pramac D'Antin MotoGP Team with Alex Barros took place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit of Valencia. The Brazilian rider went on making kilometres on the Ducati 990cc and taking confidence with the Bridgestone tyres. The final balance from Valencia is positive and the work that has been done will allow the Team to begin the test in January with a good base. Today, Alex made 1'33.2 as a best laptime, with a rhythm of 1'33. The next test will be in January, on the circulexit of Sepang, Malaysia. Read more.....

    Today, the first test of the Pramac D'Antin MotoGP Team took place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit of Valencia. The rider Alex Barros, on the DUCATI GP6 "Sat" with Bridgestone tyres, began to take confidence with the bike and had the occasion to know better the whole Team and its technicians. There are many news for the Italian-Spanish Team. Between the Brazilian rider and the new motorcycle-tyres package, there already seems to be a good feeling.
